We collect the information you provide during registration: your name, email address, city, and country. We also collect your Human Number assignment data and any additional profile information you voluntarily add (story, memories, photo).
Payment information is processed directly by Razorpay or Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers.
You control what is publicly visible. By default, only your general location and Human Number are shown. Your name and story are private unless you choose to make them public. You can update your privacy settings at any time through your profile.
Your Human Number and core registration data are designed to be permanent — this is the fundamental purpose of HumanNumber. However, additional profile information (story, photo, tags) can be edited or removed at your request at any time.

By registering for a Human Number on Human Ledger, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before completing your registration.
Each Human Number is intended for one individual human being. You may not purchase multiple numbers for yourself. You may register on behalf of a deceased family member, clearly indicating so during registration.
The contribution amount is exactly one (1) unit of your country's currency. This is a non-negotiable fixed amount. There are no discounts, promotions, or alternative pricing. The payment is processed securely through Razorpay (for India) or Stripe (for international users).
Due to the permanent and immediate nature of Human Number assignment, all contributions are non-refundable once your Human Number has been assigned. Please see our Refund Policy page for more details.
Any story, memories, or profile content you add is entirely your responsibility. We reserve the right to remove content that is harmful, illegal, or violates our community standards. Your Human Number itself will never be removed.
We are committed to maintaining the Humanity Ledger record in perpetuity. In the unlikely event that Humanity Ledger ceases operations, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure your record is preserved and transferred to a suitable successor organization.
Humanity Ledger operates a strict no-refund policy. Once your payment has been processed and your Human Number assigned, the transaction is final and non-reversible.
Your Human Number is assigned permanently and sequentially the moment your payment is confirmed. It is written into the immutable ledger of humanity. Once a number is assigned, it cannot be re-assigned to another person — which means the slot is permanently reserved for you. For this reason, the contribution cannot be refunded.
If your payment fails to process (network error, insufficient funds, etc.), you will not be charged and no Human Number will be assigned. You may attempt the registration again. If you believe you were charged but did not receive a Human Number, please contact us immediately with your payment reference.
In exceptional circumstances — such as duplicate charges due to technical error — we will investigate and process refunds where warranted. Contact us with your payment details and we will resolve the issue promptly.
